Job Description

Eden Green Technology is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee all food safety and quality control activities within our facility. This role will manage the Quality Control Technicians and Food Safety Technicians , ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, certification standards, and company policies. The Food Safety Manager will be responsible for maintaining a culture of food safety , conducting audits, overseeing inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader with experience in food safety management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership in a food production facility. 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Quality Control Technicians and Food Safety Technicians.
  • Develop and implement training programs on food safety and quality control procedures.
  • Conduct team meetings to review compliance, audit results, corrective actions, and ongoing food safety initiatives.
  • Foster a proactive food safety culture throughout the facility.

Food Safety Compliance & Oversight:

  • Ensure full compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and SQF certification requirements.
  • Conduct facility-wide food safety risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee and validate sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Ensure that all departments maintain proper documentation for traceability and regulatory requirements.

Audits & Inspections:

  • Prepare for and lead third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Conduct internal food safety audits and facility inspections to identify risks and non-conformities.
  • Work closely with the Director of Food Safety to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.

 

Quality Control & Traceability:

  • Oversee Pack Quality Control Technicians to ensure product quality, packaging integrity, and labeling compliance.
  • Validate that traceability records and batch tracking are accurate and up to date.
  • Implement and improve food safety protocols related to storage, handling, and transportation.

Sample Collection & Environmental Monitoring:

  • Oversee Food Safety Technicians in collecting and testing water, soil, produce, and environmental swabs.
  • Review and analyze test results, reporting any food safety concerns to the Director of Food Safety.
  • Ensure an accurate and well-maintained inventory of testing and sampling materials.

Training & Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and conduct food safety training sessions for employees.
  • Promote and enforce a food safety-first mindset throughout the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates, making recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance in a food production, greenhouse, or controlled environment agriculture (CEA) setting.
  • HACCP and SQF certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of FSMA, GMPs, FDA, USDA, and third-party audit requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with audit preparation, record-keeping, and corrective action management.
  • Ability to work in cold, humid, or high-paced environments as needed.

Pay Band- $60-$70k/annual salary based on experience
