Summary The Electrician/Mechanic is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair work to ensure the efficient operation of plant machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role involves diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues, maintaining power circuits and control systems, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, layout and perform a normal range of electrical and mechanical duties to install, maintain and repair electrical equipment and wiring and to maintain and repair plant machinery, equipment and facilities in the plant areas. Install, maintain and/or repair electric motors, generators, switchboards, lighting and power circuits and controls, starters, elevators and similar equipment and services. Construct control panels and boxes from schematics and/or electrical operation. Tear down units, diagnose troubles, repair or replace defective parts or wiring; reassemble and adjust for proper operation. Disassemble and repair motors and controls, run power and lighting circuits, carry out periodic or special electrical inspection and preventive maintenance operations on motors and other units and perform other electrician functions as directed or required. Perform mechanical maintenance and repair operations on plant equipment and machinery as necessary to make emergency repairs and maintain production operations on assigned shift. Diagnose faulty operations, disassemble units, repair or replace worn or defective parts; reassemble and adjust for proper operations. Carry out scheduled or special preventive maintenance operations on plant equipment. Perform emergency plumbing, welding and other mechanical maintenance functions as necessary. Maintain required work, material and other records and reports; perform other duties as assigned. Detect and report defective material, faulty operation and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations. Qualifications/Requirements Must be a Certified/Licensed Electrician.
