Job Description: The Marketing Video Designer is a hybrid creative role responsible for developing visually compelling, brand-aligned video content that supports marketing campaigns, product launches, and digital storytelling. This individual will design motion graphics, create visual layouts for video, and collaborate closely with editors, producers, and marketers to bring dynamic content to life across various platforms.
This role is ideal for a creative professional with a strong eye for design, a passion for motion, and a solid understanding of marketing content strategy.
Contract role for 3 months with possible extension.
Essential Functions: The following responsibilities represent the core functions of the role. Duties are listed in order of impact:
- Design for Motion: Develop visual assets, storyboards, and layouts that serve as the foundation for marketing videos.
- Motion Graphics Creation: Animate elements such as lower thirds, intros/outros, transitions, iconography, and infographics for video content.
- Concept Collaboration: Partner with producers, editors, and marketers to brainstorm and execute creative visual directions aligned with campaign objectives.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual work aligns with brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone, look, and feel across formats.
- Multi-Format Adaptation: Tailor visuals for a wide variety of content types and platforms, including paid media, social media, product explainers, sizzle reels, and internal communications.
- Editorial Support: Provide visual treatments and motion assets to enhance live-action video edits and strengthen storytelling.
- Storyboard Design: Focus heavily on designing detailed storyboards as the foundation for video production.
- Project Intake: Manage incoming projects via Workfront, following established workflows and timelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teamsno external client interaction is required.
Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience in motion design, visual communication, or a related field).
Experience: - 3-5+ years of experience in motion design, visual design, or video-centric creative roles.
Skills: - Strong visual design skills with a solid understanding of animation, motion, and storytelling through movement.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects and Premiere Pro; intermediate to expert proficiency in Figma required (Sketch acceptable, but must be comfortable working in Figma).
- Demonstrated ability to quickly iterate and refine designs based on feedback.
- Familiar with layout, typography, and design principles specific to video and motion.
- Experience collaborating within video production workflows and cross-functional creative teams.
- Skilled in designing storyboards; experience with project management tools such as Workfront.
- Knowledge of Frame.io and familiarity with marketing, branding, or advertising environments.
- Understanding of performance-based content and/or experience in 3D or interactive motion design a plus.
