Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer ( and Certified Great Place to Work ( AFTS (ASRC Federal Technology Solutions) is seeking a highly qualified Digital Forensics Analyst to support our contract with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in Washington, DC. The Analyst will focus on conducting digital forensics investigations, particularly internet-based evidence collection, to support enforcement actions involving electronic evidence from various sources such as computers, mobile devices, cloud storage, and the internet. **Responsibilities:** + Conduct extensive internet-based investigations, including evidence collection from websites, multimedia, and social media platforms utilizing Clear Web, Deep Web, and Dark Web methodologies. + Perform digital forensics field support, collecting evidence from computers, servers, mobile devices, and cloud storage at various sites nationwide. + Collaborate closely with CFTC legal teams and law enforcement to ensure effective planning and execution of forensic operations. + Prepare detailed written reports and documentation suitable for court presentations. + Provide technical expertise and consultation to legal teams regarding electronic evidence handling and analysis. + Offer expert testimony during legal proceedings, including depositions and trials for Commission and parallel criminal cases. + Support internal cybersecurity efforts and incident response, collaborating with the Security Operations Center (SOC). + Conduct data recovery, adhering strictly to evidence handling best practices and Federal Rules of Evidence. + Regularly report case status and metrics to stakeholders and management. + Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices documentation. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent. + Proven experience in digital forensics and electronic evidence analysis. + Strong knowledge of internet investigation techniques and open-source intelligence methodologies. + Demonstrated ability to produce clear, detailed communication suitable for legal contexts. + Experience providing technical consultation and testimony for legal proceedings. + Proficiency in incident response, cybersecurity investigation, and data recovery techniques. + Ability to manage and document evidence securely and compliantly. + Excellent organizational and reporting skills. Work will be a hybrid of remote/off-site and onsite at CFTC's Headquarters Office in Washington, DC, with the potential for full-time onsite work at CFTC's direction.
